The public is invited to attend the city of Rocky Mount’s annual Arbor Day Celebration on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on the campus of North Carolina Wesleyan College located at 3400 N. Wesleyan Blvd. in the Powers Auditorium at the Dunn Center.

The Arbor Day Celebration will include presentations by city officials and musical performances by the North Carolina Wesleyan College student ensemble, Spectrum. Dr. Dewey Clark, president of North Carolina Wesleyan College, will be the guest speaker for the event.

During the celebration, winners will be presented with awards from the 2018 Litter Art Show. The city of Rocky Mount will also receive awards from the Arbor Day Foundation for its commitment to maintaining healthy community trees. Nash Community College and North Carolina Wesleyan College will also receive Tree Campus USA awards.

In keeping with the tradition of Arbor Day, the city of Rocky Mount has planted a White Oak tree at the Dunn Center on the campus of North Carolina Wesleyan College.
