Property Management
Property Management is responsible for ensuring that all city buildings, with the exception of Fire Stations and Water resource facilities, are properly maintained and safe for public use. We do this in a number of ways including:

Employ staff that are responsible for electrical, heating ventilation/air conditioning systems (HVAC), plumbing, and general building maintenance

Providing specifications and contract management services for all contracts dealing with facility maintenance and building services
Risk Management
Risk Management for the City of Rocky Mount consists of the City's efforts to identify and minimize potential liabilities to the City. We do this in a number of ways including:

The purchase of insurance

Facilities and work practice inspections

Emergency response and action planning

Identifying and analyzing loss exposure

Risk transfer and avoidance

Policy development, implementation and review

Claims/Insurance
Information on submitting a liability claim against the City may be obtained by contacting the Risk Management office at (252) 972-1202.
The City does exert governmental immunity for tort claims in accordance with North Carolina state law. Claims are typically processed within 21 business days. Claims involving injury or non-automotive property damage may take longer to complete.
If you are involved in an auto accident with a city employee and have property damage, injury, or reason to believe that you have a claim for damages against the City of Rocky Mount, please complete a Claim Form and submit it to the Risk Management Office. Please follow the instructions on the back of form.
