Programs & Services
The Division of Senior Programs provides endless learning and recreational/leisure opportunities for adults 50 or older to age actively. In addition we serve as an information and referral service hub for the older adult community. Our programs and services are broken up into the following categories.
The Rocky Mount Senior Center will open in phases to ensure we can offer a safe place for members. The center will open in four phases. To attend the Rocky Mount Senior Center, members must schedule their visit time. Below are the phases in which the Rocky Mount Senior Center will open:
Phase 1 (March 15, 2021)
This includes the fitness center, billiards, and gym walking (no basketball).
Fitness Center

Reservation will be required to use the fitness center. Fitness Center can be reserved in one-hour increments. Please call or see front desk for sign-up availability.

Each hour reservation is 45 minutes to allow proper sanitation time (ie. 8am reservation is 8:00-8:45am & the next reservation time is 9am)

Enter the wellness center via the door in the hallway.

Please maintain and follow social distancing guidelines.

Clean equipment before usage.

Complete your exercise.

Clean equipment after usage.

Move on to your next piece of equipment.

Exit the wellness center via the door in the hallway.
Billiards

Reservations will be required to play billiards. The billiards table can be reserved in one-hour increments. Please call or see front desk for sign-up availability.

Each hour reservation is 45 minutes to allow proper sanitation time (ie. 8am reservation is 8-8:45 & the next reservation time is 9am)

The pool balls and billiards sticks will be left in the area for members to utilize.

Members should wipe down all equipment such as the sticks and balls before usage.

Please maintain and follow social distancing guidelines.

When your allotted time is over, please wipe down pool balls and sticks before placing them back in their spots.

Please sanitize your hands after usage.
Gym Walking

No reservations will be required, however, only 15 people will be allowed to walk in the gym at one time.

Members should wear a mask the entire time in the gym and maintain social distancing.

Members should walk counterclockwise in gym.
Phase 2 (late March – early April)
Phase 1 will continue along with opening the pool for lap swimming and water walking. More information will be provided.
Phase 3 (mid-April – late April)
Phase 1 and 2 will continue along with adding land and water-based classes. More information will be provided.
Phase 4 (undetermined)
Phases 1-3 will continue along with adding in adding in programs/services. More information will be provided.
