Fun Bike Ride Registration

Bike Ride Registration

You are invited to the Rocky Mount Fun Bike Ride! This year marks the 7th annual ride. Riders, who pre-register will be treated to a hot dog lunch following the Ride.

The RMFBR is a casual ride through Rocky Mount escorted by the RM Police Department. All riders must wear a helmet and youth must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Riders assume all risks.

A course map and directions are provided for the ride which is about 7 miles long. The route is not marked, but riders in mass have followed police instructions and safely completed the course six years running. Riders are expected to obey traffic laws and show courtesy to other riders. You are expected to stop for signs and signals and to proceed only when the way is clear.

Riders start from the picnic shelter next to the Sunset Park tennis courts at 10:00 am. The ride concludes at the picnic shelter. Lunch is served until 12:30 pm for pre-registered riders. Pre-registration ends on Tuesday April 28.

Normally a more seasoned veteran group of cyclists starts the ride from the shelter at 10:00 am and ride a longer ride (approx 30 miles) into Nash County. This group is without a police escort.

The Fun Bike Ride begins in a park, passes through an historic neighborhood, crosses the county line railroad tracks, parallels the RM Event Center and joins the Tar River Trail back to Sunset Park.

While on the course if a true emergency develops call 911. For other needs call 240 357-7567. On course assistance is not provided.

Every effort will be made to have the Ride, but if hazardous weather prevails May 16 is the rain date.
