Engine Two is a 2004 Smeal Rescue Body Pumper on a Spartan Gladiator Classic Chassis. It has a 350 Cummins engine. The fire pump is rated at1250 gallons per minute. Engine Two has 1800 feet of assorted size attack lines and 2575 feet of assorted size of water supply lines.

Engine Three is a 1998 E-One Cyclone Rescue Pumper. It has a 400 Cummins engine. The fire pump is rated at 1250 gallons per minute. Engine Three has 2300 feet of assorted size attack lines and 2500 feet of assorted size of water supply lines.

Ladder 30 is used for elevated water tower and elevated rescue operations. This truck carries various equipment for fire ground and rescue operations.

Squad One is a support apparatus that provides the City of Rocky Mount Fire Department's District 1 with specialized fire and rescue equipment.It is a 1992 Navistar International Truck and Chassis with a 3-D Body.It responds to multiple company assignments with one fire engineer and two firefighters. Squad One carries specialized fire equipment that cannot be carried on engine or truck companies like an on board four bottle cascade air system for refilling self-contained breathing apparatus. The system also supports the pneumatic extrication tools used for specialized entanglement situations and motor vehicle accidents. Squad One supports all multiple company fires with specialized fire suppression equipment like positive pressure fans, a ventilation saw,and atmospheric monitoring equipment. The apparatus has an enormous array of rope and rescue equipment to support emergencies that are categorized in confined space, trench rescue; high and low angle rope rescue, and water rescue emergencies. Squad One has the capability to respond to advanced life support medical calls just like an engine company.

Squad Two is a 2007 Spartan Big Easy Custom Cab and chassis with a Hackney 19.5 foot Body. It has an 8.3 liter 6 cylinder Cummins diesel engine. Squad Two is a support apparatus that provides service to the entire City of Rocky Mount. The apparatus is equipped with specialized fire and rescue equipment. The Squad responds to multiple company assignments with one fire engineer and two firefighters. Squad Two carries specialized fire equipment that cannot be carried on engine or truck companies. One of its most important pieces of equipment is its breathing air system. Squad Two is equipped with a 25 cfm Bauer compressor and fill station. The system replenishes SCBA cyclinders during emergency incidents. The system also is capable of refilling other cascade systems and supports the pneumatic extrication tools used for specialized entanglement situations and motor vehicle accidents. Squad Two supports all multiple company fires with specialized fire suppression equipment like positive pressure fans, a ventilation saw, and atmospheric monitoring equipment, and a high wattage light tower. The apparatus has an enormous array of rope and rescue equipment to support emergencies that are categorized in confined space, trench rescue; high and low angle rope rescue and water rescue emergencies.Squad Two has the capabilities to respond to advanced life support medical calls just like an engine company and also able to perform Extrication Techniques with its powered hydraulic extrication tools on any type of motor vehicle incident. Squad Two is one of the most versatile pieces apparatus in the department.

Brush One is a 1997 E-One Jack Rabbit Brush Truck. It has a 6.5 GM V8engine. The fire pump is rated at 250 gallons per minute. Brush One has500 feet of assorted size attack lines and 250 feet of water supply line. Also, it has the equipment and capability to draft. It has indian packs and various fire ground tools.

Battalion One serves as a command vehicle for the Battalion Chief. The2009 Chevrolet Suburban is equipped with a personnel tracking accountability system, incident management tools, a thermal imaging camera, and reference materials for a wide variety of emergencies. This command vehicle has been in service for the department since May of 2009.

Battalion Two serves as the command vehicle for the Battalion Chief. The 2010 Chevrolet Suburban is equipped with a personnel accountability tracking system, incident management tools, a thermal imaging camera,and reference materials for incident commanders.

Ladder 20 is a 1994 E-One 75 foot Quint Aerial. It has a 300 Cummins engine. The fire pump is rated at 1250 gallons per minute. Ladder 20 has 900 feet of assorted size attack lines and 1600 feet of assorted water supply lines. It carries assorted sizes of various ground and roof ladders. Ladder 20 is used for elevated water tower and elevated rescue operations. This truck carries various equipment for fire ground and rescue operations. Ladder 20 is a reserve unit.

The Rocky Mount Fire Department's Swiftwater Emergency Response Team (SERT) utilizes a 24' Horton Enclosed trailer to transport the majority of the team's equipment on deployments. Some of the equipment carried on the trailer includes a 12' raft, approximately 3000' of rope cut to different lengths, web slings, prussik cords, rope hardware (i.e. carabiners, pulleys, ascenders), a line deployment gun, victim PFDs, two-way marine radios, as well as each team members personal equipment bags.

The Rocky Mount Fire Department's Swiftwater Emergency Response Team(SERT) operates a 14' 2003 Mercury HD 430 I.R.B. (Inflatable Rescue Boat) equipped with a 2003 Mercury 40hp four stroke engine. This boat is multi-chambered and has a removable aluminum floor. S.E.R.T. also operates a 12½' 2004 Mercury HD 380 I.R.B. equipped with a 2004 Yamaha 25hp four stroke engine. This boat is also multi-chambered and has a removable aluminum floor. The two I.R.B.'s are carried on an 20' flatbed trailer. This type of trailer allows for both boats to be carried on the same trailer and leaves additional room to mount a storage box and engine holder for the smaller removable 25hp Yamaha. The trailer is designed to load and unload the boats traditionally at a boat ramp and also allows the boats to be launched by hand from less accessible areas.

The Confined Space / Rope Rescue Team has a twenty four foot enclosed trailer with all necessary equipment to handle any confined space or rope rescue. The trailer was purchased by Edgecombe County through the Homeland Security Grant Program. The Rocky Mount Fire Department responds as notified to any confined space emergency with the corporate city limits of the City. The City of Rocky Mount Fire Department is designated as the confined space rescuers for the emergencies involving city departments or city personnel. On emergencies involving general industry, construction, and other private sector operations, the fire department will provide support role functions.
